The Lion's Daughter had already established a unique and successful sound for themselves on Skin Show, yet Bath House demonstrates that they’re not content to stand still. Experimentation is admirable, particularly when people would be happy for you to stick with what you’re already doing; however, experimentation can produce variable results.

Hmm, on first listen I'm not digging this as much as Skin Show - I didn't really like the album before that either, so it's possible Skin Show will end up being an exception. Their use of synths is still distinctive and intriguing, but the songwriting here doesn't do as much for me as I'd like

Basically, everything you said I agree with. The drumming and synths are certainly strong elements, but the vocals are a weak point for me.

Cheesy at times and the vocalist kind of sounds like Robb Flynn but not bad really.

Sounds good for me. But the presence of synths here is not as much as in the previous album, and the sound here is more direct, almost flirting with thrash metal in some moments.
