One of my favorite discoveries in terms of music that pushes the envelope were Brazil's Papangu back when their zeuhl meets sludge metal debut, Holoceno, dropped. A couple of years later, the band went even deeper into the jazz and Brazilian side of their music on the follow-up, Lampião Rei. I caught up with Marco and Rai to discuss influences, themes, and how to get into Brazilian music.

Great interview. This is one of my favorites bands… of the last years. Metal, Canterbury-Jazz, Zappa, Brazilian, prog. Love it
