No, Steve, why would you be in trouble for trying to show how metal music isn't always black and white?

I was surprised by this quite ambitious album. It explores several genres without it seeming strange and on the contrary they complement each other almost naturally.

I surprisingly really enjoy this one, it has a very quirky and unorthodox approach, but the songwriting is actually quite marvelous. It sounds very fresh and original, with some great ideas mixed in with an interesting blend of genres. There's nothing too overly complex about the song-structures either, they're actually quite easy listening and strikingly melodic.

Slow start, first two tracks are terrible. I do like the more traditionally structured black metal songs, but I don’t find a lot of power behind them, mainly due to mixing. If this soundscape was more focused this would be a much better release IMO. I get a lot of Steven Wilson from the more ambient/prog parts.

The intro and outro tracks are totally worthless.

This was pretty exciting at first but somehow lost it's shine after getting used to it after two more listens. I agree that intro and outro seem to be there just to get the feeling this has more variety than it really does.

Still, it's good music and I can appreciate it when a band does something different. Favorite song has to be Black since it has the cool different vocal styles.

It's a good album, I don't find any stand out songs but overall the album sounds good.
