With two years and two band mates gone Equilibrium manage to release their new opus, ReKreatur. When I first heard that Equilbrium and vocalist Helge Stang had parted ways, I slowly balled my hands into fists and shouted, "Noooo!" I have liked this band since the beginning and I really enjoyed the chemistry that flowed with each release. Now I had to deal with some new blood and when it comes down to vocalist changes in a band it can go one of two ways. They can change the chemistry enough to where I am bored to death with each new release, or the new vocalist will add some new element that propels any new material into a positive light for the band. Luckily the latter prevailed and they released ReKreatur with a new vocalist and drummer intact and in full force. Robert "Robse" Dahn has slid into the lead vocalist role with ease. Read more ›› |

I really am not a fan of death metal, or black metal or really any of the extreme genres though I do like a few artists here and there from each one. Despite that I absolutely love folk metal, harsh vocals or not, this is some of the best folk metal I have ever heard with a combination of death grunts and black metal rasps that make for some interesting vocals. Wow, i thought that that sagas was epic...  i dont think it sounds as sagas. and even if it would then you know how equilibrium sounds. it would be weird if they suddenly sounded like ensiferum... this is the first equilibrium album that i liked from the beginning, i had to listen to TF and Sagas a while before i started to like them

To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the old vocalist Helge.. But the new vocals by Rene I love! little more gruff to them and i can here a little more pronunciation in there! hehe and musically it's great! love the happy feel through the whole album and the acoustic songs are a great bonus too!! I gave it a 10! there really is not one song on here I don't like!

They don't even seem to have heard of it at HMW, MusicWorld or any other big music store, even though they sell Sagas and (more rarely) Turis Fratyr. I think I'll move to Europe just to have an easier access to Euro metal.

"Ewige Sieg" and "Wasserman" appears to be great after first hearing...rest i dont know yet...but i somehow feel this album is unnecessarily long and therefore a bit empty and boring...  but maybe giving it more time will change my opinion...

Well i dont really like the acoustic songs. they could have done them much better but instead of using normal chords they use power chords so they become more folk rock than folk...

Finally got it and well, it's a good album. Not a wonderful one, but good. Some melodies are obviously borrowed from their other albums, as well as other bands, so it's not their most original album so far, though some alements are new. On the whole, a perfectly executed copycat...

For a while I thought this album was inferior to both the other albums but now I think it's just as good. The songs "Der Wassermann", "Wenn Erdreich Bricht" and "Kurzes Epos" are rather amazing. Only thing I'm not keen on are the female vocals but they don't last long so it's not so bad.
