my pick is the pizza, because it's easily the best tasting, most consistent and sometimes the most nutritious food out of this list, i also love shaworma and the good old burger.

In Italy there's almost 600 000 customers every day, 1.2 millions in France... all numbers taken from wikipedia.org. And that's just McDonalds, so I'd say fast food is popular enough in Europe.

Looks like I'm the third person to vote for the glorious kebab! If there's one thing that the Middle Easterners do better than anyone in the world, it's the cooking of meat. They always do it perfectly, and there's nothing better than biting into lamb that melts in your mouth, surrounded by soft pita bread and tabbouleh and hummus... Man, I'm really hungry now. Oh, and I agree with K7 that conservative taste when it comes to cultural stuff, like food and clothing and language, is far more desirable than falling victim to 'globalisation'. In India, I'd far prefer to get some nice 'aloo tikki chaat' (aka 'ragda patties', lightly fried and spiced potato coated in awesomely hot chickpeas and sauce) or 'pani puri' (little pastries filled with fiery hot spiced liquid) than McDonald's or KFC, and in places like Turkey and the rest of the Middle East I'm sure most people would rather have kebabs and köfte than Burger King.

I'm a burger guy myself. I hate McDonald's, but places like Hardee's make really good one's. Wendy's are pretty good too. I guess that's just the American in me, but oh well.
