Well, instead of limiting our football talk to just the American Metalstormers thread, I decided to just make a topic about it so that everyone can be included.
My favorite football team is the Seahawks and my favorite player is either Lofa Tatupu or Ken Hamlin. My team got bitch slapped by the Bears recently, but we did suffer from significant injuries.
Anyways, who's your favorite team and player?
Who do you guys see going to the Superbowl this year? It's kinda hard to predict because if a key player gets an injury, the team is basically screwed. I think the Colts have a good chance of finally making it, and will either play the Seahawks or the Bears. I doubt that the Steelers will repeat this year because they haven't looked all that great. Well, I can only hope.

@Konrad- you pretty much summed up the NFL in your middle paragraph
I don't think I saw the fight that you were talking about, but I did see that dude tackling Polamouhoohoo (or however you spell his name...the steeler cb) by pulling straight down on his hair? That shit was hilarious.

Bears game tonight on ESPN. I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth, but I don't think Arizona has a lot going for them...

Likewise. I don't think it will be a problem for Chicago. What a suprise it would be if Arizona had the game of their lives though.....

I hope Matt Leinart gets sacked 50 times...but I'd sacrafice that fantasy to see a good game. The thing I like about the NFL as opposed to College is that any team can win, on any given Sunday (or monday).
Here is the UM fight I mentioned before...

Nevermind that the offense didn't show up for the game.

I knew that Chicago's offense would break apart sooner or later. Grossman is still really young and I don't know if he can be depended on later in the season. However, their defense still owns so I don't think that they will have too many problems.
Oh, and that fight was awesome. Even the broadcaster was talking shit! I read in the paper today that he got fired for his comments. That's 2 commentators fired in the same week...

Not another Patriots fan....
Yes, the Chicago/Arizona game was a bit suprising, I was impressed by Leinart's performance on those first 2 touchdown drives. Chicago's defense was even more impressive. They scored all of the teams points!

I can't remember his name. He's a well-known NFL commentator...Steve Lyons maybe? They fired him because he kinda made fun of Mexicans.

I'm at work right now without anything to do and I'm bored as fuck so I will give my predictions for tomorrow.
Panthers vs Bengals
The Panthers looked pretty good against the Ravens, while the Bengals lost to Buccanneers. This should be an entertaining game. I say that the Panthers win, 21-17.
Lions vs Jets
I have yet to see the Jets play this year and I've only seen the Lions play once. I think that this will be a close game and that Rogers' suspension will hurt the Lions. However, I see potential in them and I think that the Lions win, 14-10.
Packers vs Dolphins
Both of these teams are dreadful to watch. The Dolphins have looked slightly better the last two games with the QB change and I think that they can actually win. It was recently announed that the Packers WR Koren Robinson will suspended for a year and that's just another kink in their poor offense. I'm predicting that the Dolphins win, 24-14. There will be many turnovers this game.
Jaguars vs Texans
The Texans seem to be getting better every year, while the Jaguars continue to suffer from injuries. Byron Leftwich is questjionable due to a sore ankle, but their backup QB proved worthy last year. hmm, I'm actually gonna go out on a limb and say that the Texans win, 17-10
Patriots vs Bills
Somehow the Patriots have been winning despite the departure of some key players and I can't see the Bills doing much to stop them. Injuries to 3 key Bills doesn't help their cause either. I say Patriots win, 21-3.
Eagles vs Bucs
I think the Buccaneers surprised everyone last week with their win over Cincinnati. However, I don't think that they can repeat another upset. Donovan McNabb is one of the highest rated quarterbacks in the league and I don't think the Bucs can stop them. I say Eagles win, 27-10.
Steelers vs Falcons
ahh, two teams I hate. The Steelers have had their troubles this season and so have the Falcons. This won't be a pretty game, but in the end, I think the damn Steelers will win, 14-7.
Chargers vs Chiefs
The Chiefs have been doing better than I thought with Huard as the starting QB, but let's face it, they have no chance. The Chargers dominate them offensively and defensively. I say Chargers win, 31-9
Broncos vs Browns
I sense another blowout. Even though Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards have had a good season so far, they won't do shit against the Broncos. I'd be willing to bet that the Broncos win, 21-9.
Cardinals vs Raiders
This game is kinda hard to predict due to the loss of the Cardinal's offensive coordinator. Despite this fact, I think the Cardinals will prevail because, well, the Raiders suck. Leinart has been doing pretty well and Fitzgerald and Bolden are the most dangerous receiving duo in the NFL right now. Also, Edgerrin James is due for a breakout game. I say Cardinals win, 24- 13.
Redskins vs Colts
Not many teams can beat the Colts, and the Redskins aren't one of them. The 'skins have had a shakey season, in contrast to the Colt's almost perfect one. I say Colts win, 27-17
Giants vs Cowboys
I have absolutely no clue who will win this game. Both of these teams are good, but I'd say that the Giants will win, 27-24
It will be interesting to see how off I am tomorrow night. I don't know why I decided to predict the scores, since no one is ever right.

hmm, at least I got a couple right.
Anyways, I"m pissed right now because it's the 3rd Quarter in the Seahawks game and Hasselbeck is injured. Our should-be-receiver/backup QB threw an interception on his first passing play. Also, our piece of shit backup running back has been starting due to Alexander's injury and that guy is also pissing me off. He gets tackled on the first hit every time. He's way too small and not strong enough to run past the defending linebackers.

Well pyro, seems our teams suffered losses today that we really shouldn't have. The Panthers shot themselves in the foot will all of their penalties.
I'm suprised at the score in the Seattle game, I expected it to be much closer than that,

The Seahawk game was pretty crazy. I hope that team can get healthy soon or they might have a long rest of the season.
The Packer/Dolphin game got interesting once the second half started, and it turned out to be a good game. I am also happy with the result.
The shootout in the Falcons/Steelers game was also fun to watch...

yeah, Charlie Batch did pretty well for the Steelers, but in the end, Vick won. The craziest play of the day was Tampa Bay's 62 yard game winning field goal.

steve lyon got fired because the US is entirely too PC sensitive. It wasn't a disparaging remark about Mexicans, it was a remark isolated to an ongoing series of jokes with Lou Piniella, who happens to be (partially) of Mexican descent.
Nice to see the Pats win again. Well, at least read about it.
Some crazy finishes... I woulud have thought Westbrook's mad dash would have clinched it for the Eagles... well, you turn the ball over as often as they did, you deserve to lose.
Nice that all the games I watched were close and interesting - between the defensive slugfest in Cinci and the shoot-out in Atlanta.

Wrong. 2 weeks ago he got 3 TD's in the 2nd half and was complaining the next day about how he wasn't involved enough in the 1st half.

Life sucks right now. Hasselbeck is out for at least the next 3 fucking games, our offensive line is too old and injured to play as well as they used to, Alexander is still out, our starting TE is barely playing due to injuries, oh...and the RB and QB replacements suck to the max.
