As I said before, I believe most media treatments on the subject are garbage, but there is one old movie that touched my cold heart. Has anybody seen Mask? It's a true story about Rocky Dennis, a kid with Elephant Man disease.

Hey Himann. Nice to see you again! The past few months have been immensely difficult and stressful, even more than usual, so not great I'm afraid...
The new av was only meant to be for xmas, but I haven't changed it back yet.
How are you? Did you have a nice christmas and new year? Haven't seen you around here for awhile. And thank you for asking me how I am.
Too bad about the stress thing. Hope things get better etc.
I quite like the new avatar as its a bit more unique than the other one. You should keep it I reckon.
I've been fine, single for a while but otherwise doing alright. Christmas and New Year were fun but I was down with the flu during that week so it ruined things a bit for me. Yeah I haven't been on here as much as a few other things are eating up my time. Always nice to see a familiar name so I thought I'd say hi and see how you are.

Definitely wise words, but the story has the potential for a happy ending with A and I'm going to take that risk. If it doesn't work... well, maybe looking at the rest of the alphabet wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Yeah a risk now and then is always worth taking if you think its going to end well. Hope it works out for you, and if not, hope letters B - Y give you a new lease on life.

Long story short, the move was a good thing for me but the relationship ended rather... ugly.
Whatever. Throwing myself back into the online world.

It's kind of a bittersweet return at this point, but once I start reviewing hopefully I'll at least feel less antsy. I've been sitting around doing nothing for too long.
As for Katy Zooey... I'm afraid that didn't work out. At all.

Thanks. I was so busy lying to myself trying to convince everyone that this was a good idea that I completely overlooked what a truly evil, manipulative person I was sacrificing for. Fucking hindsight...

The fact that this relationship blew up isn't as nice, but at least one good thing came out of it.

Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner, but I wasn't notified that you quoted me, and this is the first time in a while I've looked in this thread. lol
Ah well, I'm used to it by now... but thank you.
I probably will keep it, but only because I can't be bothered changing it back. You're right though, it is more unique.
Gah... Yep, flu is horrible, and it's pretty much impossible to enjoy yourself when you're down with it. I got away with just getting a cold over the xmas period, which is strange, cos I always get a flu at that time of year. lol
Thanks for asking how I am, I appreciate it. I hope to see you round here more often again.

OH MAN. You know the stereotypical romantic comedy or w/e where the dude likes a chick who is a little out of his league, and he says or does something so retardedly embarrassing that it's almost unrealistic? Like when the kid in Superbad tries to bump that girl in the shoulder, but hits her tit? And you're watching it and you're like WOW THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. So I did something pretty retarded like that last night. She was texting me and one of the messages was that she got home safely (we were at a bar), and I didn't know what to say, so I said, "Awesome, champ." CHAMP. I didn't know what to do after that, so I just turned my phone off lol.
CHAMP

Not to make it any worse for you, but... I'm so easily embarrassed, I'm blushing in empathy for you behind the computer screen. Whenever I do that kind of stuff, it stays with me forever.
Oh god the memories of being an awkward kid, oh god.

I made a new friend on Thursday and we've been having sex every night since Saturday. Technically she's not a new friend, but in the year we've known each other we've hung out like... three times.
I know friends with bens doesn't count as love but it definitely counts as awesome.

That's quite a monopoly only to Cats. if you give love, love will give you back. So...start sharing your viable Non-Metalish love in your neighborhood and then see, you gonna get back an ample amount of "tr00 love".

Love can mean a great many things, some of us don't know it because we find it too confusing. Love is something you can't define easily I think. It's a feeling and little more, rarely (if at all) perpetual, usually fleeting or at least shifting in character. There are many different 'kinds' of love.
Having not been loved in any way I find doubtful. Perhaps it sneaks up on you unawares, for example when you perform something which others would regard as kind or of benefit to someone other than your own person. This is love of the most fleeting kind, there is a momentary sense of adoration or admiration for the deed undertaken/kindness shown.
As Cynic pointed out certain types of love tend not to present themselves to you if you don't actively seek them or express them in kind. We all see love under a different lens, we all see how it affects things around us and ourselves in different ways. We all place varying degrees on the significance of its many facets.
So when you say no one has shown it to you this is not to say that there has never been love for you. Love tends to hide itself and is not something always made glaringly obvious. There are kinds of love which you may particularly focus on and see their absence as representative of love itself, thus you view yourself as entirely unloved, or totally unloved in a particular way. There are ways in which love is not expressed towards myself, there are those ways in which it is and of these there are ways of which I daresay I'm not aware.
Sometimes love can appear to be absent because it is always of the kind that doesn't present itself to the person in question. I don't think any one individual can definitively say that love is entirely absent.
Anywho, I don't really know if my rambling is making any sense so I'll just stop now

Meh. I wonder how that happens, does one like go "OK NOW HOW ABOUT WE HAVE SEKS??? OK M8 PERFECT IDEA LOL" or what?
Funny, now thinking about it, there are about two females I am interested in with whom I had a long and extremely superficial relationship (meaning I know them for like 12 years or so but never had anything ever aside from hanging out like very few times in the past ~4 years) and it seems like that is the hardest type of 'relationship' to build upon, lacking any real knowledge of each other but at the same time knowing each other too much for the usual random small talk shit that happens between newly met people to work. Essentially, I believe there is an already formed view in the person what the other 'is' and how he/she relates to them and that view is not shaken easily.
In my experience, anyways, but I don't have a flying clue how to break that. A pity since I definitely would like to.

We hung out the first night and just talked about random stuff. I initiated the hang-out because I wanted to catch up with some old friends. After that we just started flirting and that led to her asking me if I wanted to kiss her one night. I kissed her, which led to sex... and it's been like that ever since.

Scrap that belief dude. Seriously. If you want something to happen you have to attack it. Life has this funny way of helping you out if you take the first step. But it won't hand you things if you sit around waiting.

I don't HAVE that belief .
I know I probably need to do something but I just don't really know what. I feel that in the current state of things, doing something completely unexpected would be counter producive. I don't know what do I base that feeling upon, it just is. Feels unnatural. I feel it would need a sort of "buildup" before I do anything but that requires subtlety, and well, if there is one thing I am truly terrible in is interpersonal relationships and these stupid mind games that come with it, meaning I am completely clueless as to HOW to do it even.
There are some people who would disagree with your "scrap that belief" line, I know a few people living in stable and good relationships who were all like, things never really came together for them then they stopped caring after a while of failures and then some shit randomly fell to their hands without them doing anything really. But I agree with you and I doubt that approach will ever yield me results.

Well that's just it, no two situations are the same. What worked for me might not work for you, but it might.
I'm just saying from personal experience, I've never gotten anywhere with anything by sitting around. I took action and I'm in a much better place now as a result. Not just with the "relationship", but with my life in general.
