Recommend Russian Metal Bands

I know The Morningside, a Melodic Atmospheric Death/Doom band, which is very influenced by Agalloch and early Katatonia.

Mechanical Poet is a pretty solid progressive metal band from Russia...you should check them out...

only "Woodland Prattlers" is really really good, their other albums are pure crap

I haven't listened to them in awhile but I remember them having pretty solid music

Arkona, Katalepsy both are awesome

I really like the Russian folk-black metal band Kob.

Their full-length album is called 'The Ancient Shroud of Primeval Ural Woods.'

Yes, their music is really good, but what I don't like is their new vocalist, IMO his voice is really annoying

very intresting melodic deathdoom band they sound like Saturnus , Swallow THe Sun and sometimes early Lacrimas Profundere

definitely worth checking them out if you are into Melodic Death or Extreme Power. They really have their own sound and the violin is not there only for gimmick purposes.

Their only album, Extravasation, was remastered and it's fucking brilliant thrash metal.

I recently discovered a cool russian band called Staryi Sklep and their album Teatr Koshmarov. They come with very good oldschool heavy/thrash metal

Some really quite fantastic melodic death metal: Deviant Syndrome .
I highly suggest you give em a try

All these bands and I didn't see anyone mention Kauan! For shame. Also Helengard is pretty good. Both folk/doomish kind of bands.

Во Скорбях (Vo Skorbyah), Raxa and Mental Home are pretty good Russian doom metal bands.

Stalwart is an excellent modern death metal band and Death Vomit is a nice little fun trip if you want something like old-school death metal.

Storming Darkness, Esgharioth, Темнозорь (Temnozor), and Misanthropic Art are all pretty decent black metal bands and there's Pseudogod for your black/death fix.

Also Аспид (Aspid) is a must-listen for any tech thrash metal fans out there.

And of course, there is always Arkona but that has already been meantioned

Dunno if they've been stated yet, but Lutomysl for bm fans. imo one of the most underrated bands I know.
