Best Band from Austria

There are some similar threads for other countries so I thought I open one for Austria

I think the decision is quite hard because there are some great bands in Austria although the country isn't really a big one. I love Summoning, Estatic Fear and Hollenthon and the latest Dornenreich album is also great imo. My vote finally goes to Summoning because it was the first of the listed bands which I liked and all albums of Summoning are awesome

My vote goes to Edenbridge. Of Vision Of Atlantis and Hollenthon I only have a single album and others I have not listened to them.

I like Edenbridge myself...I don't really of the other bands...I know of Abigor but that's it...

My suggestions:
Neoclassical muisc: Dargaard, Die Verbannten Kinder Evas, Ice Ages and Pazuzu.

Doom: Dunstzorn, Estatic Fear, Inquisition, Jack Frost, Nonexistence, Our Survival Depends on Us, Soulsearch and Visceral Evisceration.
Other doom bands is almoust not possible get even for true hard core die hard doomesters.

Black: Ahnenstahl, Amortis, Asmodeus, Astaroth, Blessmon, Erebos , Gabriel's Cry, Grimnir, Irdorath, Korova, Mittwinter, Nerthus, Rivendell, Sanguis , Thy Nemesis, Trollskogen and Woodtemple.
Those are fiew what I like and have hear in myspace, realy good bands I have hear all in some time ago and I realy liked those ABM bands

Heavy: Blind Petition(only 80's albums), Blowin Free, Burning Vision and Gallows Pole
all albums in vibrationsofdoom

Gothic: A Fonds Perdu, Autumn Clan, Dawn of Dreams , Daylight Torn, Dreams of Sanity, Mely, No Pride, Tartosgardh and Totentanz.

Yeah, there are some other great bands here in Austria and this time I know nearly all of your suggestions . The only band of your list that I know and absolutely don't like is Siegfried. I)t's one of the worst bands I've ever heard. The bands I like the most of your list are: Darkwell (it's from my hometown ), Die Verbannten Kinder Evas and Woodtemple.

Diabolos - I like all bands in list even I dont have all of those but those are good I have hear all in list but there was many good what I even didnt mentioned, since havnt hear

Yeah, I understood that, I only wanted to say which I like the most of the ones you mentioned and which I don't like

Ah, I voted for Summoning, but then after reading K7's post I remembered about Dargaard... I love them, really. Anyway, I can add Dominion III to this Austrian band's list too. IMO, pretty interesting industrial metal band.

Voted for Hollenthon. Quite a lot better than other listed bands above for me. Great combination of melodic guitars and symphonic parts.

I don't find other mentioned bands so interesting or good sounding. Well, except Belphegor maybe.

I also voted for Hollenthon. I got "With Vilest Of WOrms To Dwell" on a whim, and thought it was amazing. I had to immediately get "Domus Mundi," and I made sure that I got "Opus Magnum" the day it came out.

Their combination of Death (yeah, I know they describe themselves as Black Metal, but it sounds more Death to me) and Symphonic Metal with Near eastern elements is truly unique.

Haha, well personally I voted Other because my choice is... Siegfried! And I'm not being awkward, I genuinely love this band (they've been in my faves for ages). Clearly, they get rather extreme reactions, since there's only one review of Siegfried on Metal Archives, and it got 0/100!!!

Siegfried clearly stand apart from the hordes of soundalike melodic metal bands out there, as many people won't like it at all, but I admire the way they're doing something a bit different, with all the the different diverse vocal styles and such. I love the German lyrics (I don't speak German, but phonetically it's a very powerful sounding language, and very appropriate for Metal). And the melodies are often incredibly memorable - way more so than most Power Metal bands IMO.

Actually Siegfried is from my hometown, but I can't stand the voice of the singer. The rest isn't that bad, but I think the singer is the most important part of a band and so I don't like them

In Sustria many bands sings in german, many black, dark metal bands use native langauge and they sounds awesome, in list what i gave are fiew good bands in german to

Voted other 'cause Pungent Stench (the forefathers of Hollenthon) is the best Austrian band IMO.
Maybe their last release wasn't that good but they delivered some of the finest death metal in the early 90's.

My vote is for Edenbridge, they have to be my favorite band from Austria, they are actually one of my world favorites so that was a fairly easy choice. They are one band that seem to be getting better with age and Maturity.

Yes it was from Austria, werry good band and one of hardest band sto find somewhere

Voted Summoning. They are in a league of their own.

I voted for Belphegor great band! actually I like their videos too.. hehe I can't remember that video that showed a "nun" in a church I believe it is called vomit upon the cross or something like that..

As a Summoning fanboy this is a obivious choice for me Austria has a lot of good bands.

Yeah, the same here. Summoning is just a really damn good band. Belphegor would be my #2.
