One year after their debut album, "Within Deep Dark Chambers", Shining, "The Suicide Squadron Of Stockholm" (as it is being written on the back of their second release), managed to return stronger with a brilliant piece of self-destructive, anti-humanistic and suicidal black metal that will pin the listener to the ground. I finally checked this out and it's probably my favorite by them, barely passing IV. I read an interview and Kvarforth said that he intentionally put the bass guitar high in the mix, and it was a good idea.

I love how the album gets amazingly better after the third track. It seems that from the first five albums, this one and Within Deep Dark Chambers have the most oppressive atmosphere.

Dang, a lot can happen in a year. Definitely the album that started the sound they are known for.

There are some similarities to TRoB here. It suprises me a bit that Halmstad is so much better rated than the earlier stuff.
