Being a die-hard Motorhead fan I believe it is my duty to explain this incredibly disappointing album. Before explaining the music itself, the background behind this album quite possibly explains why this was such a weak album. For anyone who doesn't know their Motorhead history this was the very first album without the complete original line-up; Fast Eddie being replaced with Thin Lizzy axeman Brian "Robbo" Robertson. Brian never seemed to be on the same page as Motorhead in any way, he often refused to play any greatest hit songs live, openly bashed the rest of the band as terrible musicians, and once wore a tutu on stage (very un-Motorhead to say the least). Hmm.. I think this album is quite a bit better than its bad reputation suggests. "Die You Bastard" and "Marching Off To War" are very enjoyable Head' tracks to me. While "Shine" and "Dancing On Your Grave" are awesome, and Id put them on any compilation of my all-time fave Motorhead songs. xD There is a few filler tracks, but I think it's a decent album, and I agree with JohnDoe that the guitar work is definitely very good. Not a classic, but I rate it higher than most seem to. lol

"Another Perfect Day" is not that bad of an album. "Shine,Dancing on Your Grave and One Track Mind" are standouts for me! They do have a different feel with Robbo on guitar but its not that bad. Worth checking out!

This is what you can play to any deaf douchebag who claims that Motörhead were just releasing the same album over and over. Robbo was not a good fit for their image as a band, but Another Perfect Day is simply brilliant.

This is not their best, but is OK, good production, better as first 2 albums, otehrwise its OK.

I've always liked this album despite the usual critique levelled at it. I personally think the production is fairly muddy. Philthy's drums and Lemmy's vocals are unusually far back in the mix but I really like it never the less. Robbo's chops are awesome. It was a shame he was such a tit, as I'd have loved to hear more from this lineup. Orgasmatron is even better but after that they started to get a bit hit and miss.

A solid record overall, with a great album cover too. This seems a wee bit softer than previous albums, and not quite as memorable as what they'd done previously, but it still has plenty of groovy hooks, and wicked solo's. The production isn't that great tho, and just as others have pointed out, the vocals are too far back in the mix, and for me the bass outshines the guitar work. The standout tracks for me are "Dancing on Your Grave", "One Track Mind", and "Marching Off to War".

IMHO their weakest release. I just wrote a comment on Aftershock saying that it´s an ok album but the old ones were better. I just forgot about APD. Aftershock and Bad Magic are masterpieces compared to this one. It´s different, yes. But is it good? Not for me. Only Dancing On Your Grave and One Track Mind are in an good range. If those were on the two LPs before or the one after I would call them fillers.
