Another solid and very enjoyable entry in the German black metal scene.

That's the best cover I've seen in a while.

This is simply great. The songwriting is very strong, the production sits almost perfectly between polished and raw and the vocals are top notch. Simply one of my favorite bm albums of all time.

I found with this album that the more interesting and adventurous ideas are in the second half (mostly), which means I enjoyed listening to "An Autumn Serenade" and "Oceans, Mountain's Mirror" more than "Lacrimae Mundi", which was a little bland to say it was the first song proper for the record. That said, there's clearly more focus on atmospheric flourishes here, particularly with the instrumentals, and more often than not last longer than you'd expect. "The Descent into Hades" for example is gorgeous stuff, whereas the closing "...Wenn der Sturm Beginnt", at half the length, is still meaningful in its isolated piano performance.

To me in some way i liked all of them, some good things was there. It was a while though
