Blackguard - Firefight

I heard new album will be called "Firefight"... sounds as lame as "Blackguard", doesn't it?

Kinda reminds me of the older Children Of Bodom.. A bit like Hatecrew Deathroll.. Better than the last record

The drumming is sick the guitar playing is sick, the melodies are catchy, what else??!!

This is their best album imo though you can't really compare any of them

Exactly, this one is not folk at all and that's not a bad thing, since their folksy side was slowly dying. Firefight is pure Extreme Power with some symphonic elements and a deathcore little something that just helps the album being more brutal. Cruel Hands and The Fear of All Flesh fucking rock! And A Blinding Light reminds me of countrymates Blinded By Faith. Good album.

What a positive surprise this is. This has all the energy and precision that Bodom used to have, and awesome musicianship to boot. I don't know about the lack of folk stuff since I'm new to the band, but who cares when the result is awesome, right? Not groundbreaking stuff, just extremely well executed. This has skyrocketed up my list for this year for sure.
