Pain Of Salvation have came back with this new "Be" album. And with this new one they are taking progressive music further! This album is a piece of music that was never heard before, the best word to describe it is Origanility. We knew the Swedish band capable of very good music but to bring a concept like this demands a lot of work and imagination.

I don't usually care much about lyrics or concepts at all. A good concept can add a lot to an album - I am a big Ayreon fan, but at the same time most of my favorite bands have pretty left winged opinions, and I consider myself to be a liberal. As long as the music is good I don't really care about lyrics, bands' attitudes, or anything like that. But here's an exception: Be.

''Dea Pecuniae'' is one hell of a song. =)

I'm glad to rediscover this.

This is my favorite concept album and second favorite album (period) ever made, simply incredible!

I realise this comment is years old, but what about all those 10s you gave?

Tracks 13 and 14 are probably among my favourite songs of all time. That said, the rest of the material doesn't match the artistry of said tracks and a few parts of the album are disappointing. Still an amazing album without doubt.

It's been a while since I've listened to this album. At the time it was one of my absolute favorites (I still greatly enjoy it), other albums have just come up since then that really blew me away. So that comment is a bit outdated.

"BE" like... In Bad English? =p

Pretty much. What a mind-numbingly boring mess of an album/concept, not a single truly memorable moment on the entire thing for me. Apparently, Daniel is inspired by rock operas like Jesus Christ Superstar, which does have some pretty good songs in it. Go figure...

I haven't listened to this one in years, I barely remember anything, I should find some time for a listen.

I know I should like this album. It’s got good musicians, a good story and pain of salvation is a solid band that can write tunes. That being sad: I absolutely hate this album too to bottom. I bought when it came out, and didn’t like it. Every other year or so, I’ll give it another shot and nope, still not dogging it. I’m 20 years in and yup, still can’t stand the album. I can’t put my finger on it, but the songs seem forced, the concept is cool but I don’t know, it just feels so pretentious. The whole get up. This album is not for me and probably never will be.

Diffidentia is a great track from an album that turns into a real challenge to listen to and understand.
