Seriously bad album. Heard the first 3 songs and threw this in the trash. Hugely disappointing !!!

Melodious
Definitely the band's weakest album so far. There is a small amount of good songs, like "Faultline" and "Crusher", but overall its a weak and average album by a usually very above average band. Disappointing.

Hope the new album is a lot better.

Destructo dont rush to judge!
Its a very very good album, their riffs remain melancholic - inspiring.

Archaic pearls of sleep and death,
The voice of December losing its breath.
And the floweryard of white and gray is haunted,
Is haunted.

Don't be surprised if you find it even less enjoyable the next time around. Just sayin'.

Perhaps more aggressive and straightforward than its predecessor, but Versus is still The Haunted going through their own motions. Solid and sometimes great as the music is here, it shares the same flaws with much of the band's discography in that the experience gets tiresome too quickly, resulting in a mixed bag of an effort once again. Songs do stand out-notably "Pieces" and "Trenches"-but they don't make up for an otherwise fairly average effort.

"The Quaker"
Haven't heard this in a very long time. Putting it on now, I enjoy it at least as much as before. There's something to these Dolving records (except Unseen) that are so straightforward, groovy and at same time playfully punk-ish, I'm a sucker for it all. Same goes for Carnal Forge with Jens. The others are good too but they don't grab me the same way. Those turn the emphasis onto the instrumentation because, let's face it, as much as Marco Aro is doing his best, the two singers are not in the same ballpark. For me Dolving has much needed texture and versatility that conveys places where the other records just can't go.
