Kingdom of Sorrow is a sludge/metalcore band for the good ol' US of A. Now, I am a huge fan of this genre, great riffs, shrieking vocals, add that together with amazing live performances and you get a really fun experience. Well? most of the time, that is.

I popped my headphones in expecting to hear that amazing, fun time. What I got from listening was boredom so intense, I wanted to cry. The album is essentially one track, now that's good if you're Sunn O))), but for a sludge/metalcore band? It's horrendous! The album is so monotonous it's almost unbearable. The drums pound endlessly, the vocals? just yelling, not even good yelling, it is a major turn off in this album. However, there is one glimmer of hope: the guitar work is quite good. The first track is an amazing intro, of course it has to be ruined by the awful vocals, but the guitar was good none the less. I also liked the album art, but don't be fooled, it's just like make-up on a dirty whore.

Bought the album when I saw it in a store. I liked the artwork and the sample's sounded nice, so I thought this would be one awesome album. But after one listening of the album at home I had mixed feelings. And after the second time I decided to bring it back. The album has 2 or 3 good songs, and the other songs are just monotonous...
