Cormorant - Metazoa

After listening to this album again, I came back and changed my vote from a 9 to a 10. That's how good it is. It's nothing less than completely perfect. So there.

Finally, some decent new melodic death metal Obviously it has black metal and progressive influences but it has strong melodeth touches which I rather like. Plus I couldn't get into the new Arch Enemy or Threat Signal in the least so this is a very nice change of pace, so I would highly recommend listening to this, do it

Not the best/most innovative album technically but damn nearly every song is a fucking beast I love it. Unique in its own right though, not that it's completely redundant.
I'd never guess they are American. I love the folk touches throughout it also.

I've never thought a band this good could exist. Seriously.

Really One of the best vocals and leads !!

This album is basically sex.

I can't stand the growling nor the cleans vocals for the most part. The second song feels quite jumpy and hard to see the intention behind each progression. Kind of a shame cause I hear some great ideas. The production is rather lo-fi but it fits. Feels like a crossover between Amon Amarth and Primordial. Gotta say if the vocals wouldn't be like this I'd be very fond of this record.
