This is exactly where i knew JfaC would end up, TECHNICAL DEATH METAL!!! Everyone was all pissy that they're guitar was just "noise-generators" (when i could hear everything perfectly), that they were so core this and core that... Worldwide core bands are understanding that core sucks, and need to progress or burn out. JfaC was always heading towards more and more technical riffs and drums, so i knew this release would be something special.

probably in my top 10 albums of 2012, beating out Spawn of Possession's latest release, and THAT says a lot....

JFAC over Spawn of Possession? Can anyone else honestly confirm this as a legitimate tech-death release so I don't waste my time.

I guess its pretty tech-y. Though I still hear a lot of -core influences on it. Vocals kind of remind me of Black Dahlia Murder at times. I've only listened to 1.5 songs though.

Listening to it now, and I'd say it's pretty much technical death metal. Kinda. Not that I give a fuck about genres or reputations. It reminds me a little of Atheist's "Piece of Time", but not as catchy.

Listen to Atheist, then, or give this one a shot. It's not that bad. But then, I know nothing about JFAC except what I've read on the internet (not so positive). All's I can say is, this album isn't too shabby and might just end up growing on me.

I'd write a review, but I'm sure someone else who knows this band better will soon do it better than I can.

Yeah. No. Wait, what was the question?

Someone mentioned Atheist in a JFAC album thread. Now I have to check this out.

EDIT:

Just listened to this, and I can honestly say I'm impressed. Will be looking into the album in full now. Definitely intrigued after that.

These bands with shitty histories seem to be coming out of the woodwork to produce some decent stuff this year. Just look at Abigail Williams.
