Listening to the album right now... it's been a long while since I've been totally enchanted by a Grave Digger album, but this one is definitely the best effort by the band since "Rheingold" nearly 10 years ago. The double-barrelled opening of the haunting and captivating "Charon" (complete with Chris using his rarely used clean vocals) followed by the facemelting "God Of Terror" gets things off to a cracking start, and from then on, the quality old school metal just keeps coming! There's a lot of atmospherics on the album, and a more forefront role for H.P. than he usually has on whole albums. And the bonus track "Saints Of The Broken Souls" is awesome!

Accept now have a challenger for best old school heavy metal album of the year! xD

Nice sum-up of this album! I feel the same way. Haven't heard much prior to The Last Supper (probably should recify that! ). Even though I really enjoyed the previous album The Clans Will Rise Again as well (to me that one was a bit more epic and varied), this new one does seem deeper and more atmospheric. And in the end it won me slightly more over. Totally agreed, killer album.

Am I the only one that thinks that "Call of the Sirens" is the slower version of the song "The Dark of the Sun"??? It's almost the same XD

At the best moments it almost reaches same goodness as their past glory, but there's not very many of those moments. Walls Of Sorrow and Call Of The Sirens are the ones that I see most potential for more listens. Overall the album is alright, not one of my GD favourites though.
