Hannover's Scorpions have had a long and prolific hard-rock career with 17 studio albums to show for it and above all, a cult following to this day. Among their extended discography, one album in particular got my attention lately, even though I am far from being a fan of theirs. Humanity - Hour 1 released in 2007 has a distinct sound that sets it aside from the rest. Hard-rock yes, but with a slightly different radio vibe that might not please the die-hard fans, this album might just turn your attention to the German phenomenon that is Scorpions for the first time. I listened to that hidden gem of the big discography of Scorpions and I think except the most underrated album of them is also their best.

I think this album is a testament to their longevity. I mean we're talking about a band my parents listened when they were in their late teens and early twenties. And Scorpions are still making some great music, pop or not.

An attempt to sound more modern where they brought in a lot of hotshot writers to help them. And it sounds, there's no identity here, it sounds fabricated. The songs doesn't rock, the ballads don't move me and the thick one sided production doesn't help it. Through the years I've gone back to it many times to try to unlock the praise it got but I just think it get weaker every time. It sounds like a product of it's time and hasn't aged well. The only song I would single out is Love Will Keep Us Alive. I'm gonna go out and say it, I'm more entertained listening to Eye II eye.
