Seeing as how I'm part of the generation of endless trophy awarding, it'd only be fair for me to spread the joy of getting a pointless plastic thing to Russia and give Pseudogod 2012's "inexplicably unique death disc" trophy for this album. Yeah, might be premature, and I'm not going to actually send them one?can't imagine the shipping costs for a package to be sent that far?but it's the thought that counts. Fuck I love Dark Descent. The amount of good/great albums available through them is borderline ridiculous. Horrendous, Anhedonist, Begrime Exemious, many others, and now this. When will it end?

Why is every band with just a little bit more elloquency in its lyrics immidetly labeled as "pretentious" on MetalStorm?

The song-titles (didn't bother looking closely at the lyrics) definitely don't seem very concise or elegant to me. Have to toss the "pretentious" grenade when a person or band seems to use mouthfuls for the sake of using mouthfuls and seeming well-read, not to write out an idea clearly or in some clever or ironic way. That said, this is pretty far from the worst out there. And expecting some Auden from a group of musicians who probably only speak Russian most of the time, or some emphasis on elegant-language from a death metal outfit in general is pretty fucking stupid.
