Newsted - Announces New Guitarist And European Shows
Newsted, the new band led by former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, has announced that it is now a 4-piece, joining forces with Staind guitarist Mike Mushok for the debut album and live shows. Speaking of live shows, Newsted will be performing at some European shows which have been announced.
The group will release their debut full-length album this summer and you can still listen to the fist video from the band below; the song "Soldierhead" is taken from their debut Metal EP.
Jason's comments on the new addition: "It was obvious from the word go that Mike is one of us. Professional, focused, happy and grateful to be able to make our beautiful noise together!"
Mike Mushok had this to day: "I loved the old school vibe of the Metal EP, and when we got together to jam it really felt great. Staind is taking a break for a while, so when Jason asked if I was interested in joining them to record an album and play on the upcoming tour, it was perfect timing. All I could say was, Hell yeah! I'm totally down for this."
European dates:
June 5th - Warsaw, Poland, Impact Festival (Second Day)
June 7th - Sölvesborg, Sweden, Sweden Rock Festival
June 16th - Castle Donington, UK, Download Festival (3rd Day/Pepsi Max Stage)
June 21st - Graz, Austria, Seerock Festival
June 26th - Tokaj, Hungary, Hegyalja Fesztival
June 29th - Helsinki, Finland, Rock The Beach
June 30th - Dessel, Belgium, Graspop Metal Meeting
