I was a bit of a latecomer when it came to discovering Brooklyn's own gothic influenced-metal/black humoured Black Sabbath/Beatles inspired Type O Negative. Although T.O.N.'s earlier albums had some fine moments, it was 1996's October Rust that opened my eyes to T.O.N.'s creative side and persistent self-parody/black humour. The follow up [1999's World Coming Down] album was, in my own opinion, a solid effort. However, it failed to meet the standard set by previous releases, and failed to make the impact that most would have expected from the band.

Good album and the most explicit in lyrics department. Still I can't call it one of my favourites. Aside from the title track that blows me away every time I listen to it and fast-paced I Don't Wanna Be Me, all the other songs sound nice, but not really memorable.

We are who we're afraid to be"

This album features some of my favorite melodies to be ever written, ranging from the essential track "I Don't Want To Be Me" to Todd's Ship Gods and "How Could She?"

Probably my favorite album by this band.

Yes, especially in the track "I Like Goils".

This album captures the TON style but keeps me way more interested than previous albums, faster songs probably help that.
