5.0 		What Ephel Duath gave us here is a collection of sort of bizarre riffs and sort of bizarre time-signaturing and sort of bizarre vocals that seem like they were tossed together more for the sake of seeming bizarre than for the sake of making good music.

That's the impression I'm getting. I don't listen to much prog and psychedelic stuff, and these guys seem to be wading in proggy and psychedelic(ish) territory on this, but I doubt that anyone who likes said types of music will find much to enjoy on this anyway.

OMG what happened to these guys? Is this really the same band that released Painter's Palette and Pain Necessary To Know? Their previous album was pretty disappointing but this sounds even worse.

Coming back to this, it is one of my all time favorite albums. So sad that people can't appreciate it because it is so different to prior Ephel Duath albums. The ability to so perfectly mix growls and pitched vocalized lyrics so that you barely notice a transition, and that when pitched, they so perfectly blend with the guitar pseudo-melody. Then the production is impeccable. I ought to see if this is available in 24 bit 96 KHz, as there are only a few albums I think are worth that level of quality.
