Horseback are a sneaky bunch; being the clever sound shifters that they are this new album is an interesting turn of events. Firstly, it's actually mostly just the one fellow behind all the fetchingly folky psychedelia this time around, secondly, Jenks Miller just made off with your wallet.

Are you drunk?

Not at the moment I was referring to this album, rather than their somewhat underwhelming previous one.

Yeah I know what you mean, but "I this is awesome too." just damages my English skill D:

I see what you mean now. Just re-read my sentence and that's some next-level K7 shit going on right there.

In fact your initial question is correct, I was mildly drunk last night when I wrote that.

Doesn't really sound like something I can get on board with so much.

I really like the opening track, and "Chanting Out the Low Shadow" is pretty fucking brilliant. But the rest? Not so much.

I sorely wish these guys would do another Invisible Mountain, or something akin to their collaboration with Locrian.

Basically this. Nothing else they've done is too interesting

Half Blood definitely had the potential, but the delivery and overall sound was a bit weak I thought.

Probably the band's one release that most fully embraces the psychedelic persona. Yeah, it's not The Invisible Mountain, and something like that probably won't come again, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying it. Milk And Honey and Consecration Blues are a bit boring, I think they should've been combined in some way, but other than that I'd say this album's pretty solid.
