After that Daniel Heiman and Fredrik Olsson decided to leave Lost Horizon in 2004, they founded Heed a new combo of Power Metal. "The Call" is their first album, a really nice piece of Power Metal that flirts with Heavy and Hard Rock. Really catchy and intelligent this music will probably please the fans of the two musicians.

After Daniel Heiman left Lost Horizon everybody had been wondering if Lost Horizon will still be able to make albums as good, and what will be done of that awesome voice. The second answer is in this album.

This is straight power metal. I can't think of any band that sounds like this but that is because I don't know if there is any power metal band that is so simple! Really, this looks like mainstream power metal. Every song has almost the same speed, same structure, and there aren't any memorable solos, although some are quite good. So why that "high" rating?

Gave it an 8 just because of Daniel Heiman's godly performance. No matter in which band he is, he's always incredible.

Btw this is Traditional Heavy, not Power Metal; the songs aren't as fast as typical PM songs.

Heed's debut is a solid heavy/ power metal album with some modern metal touches. It has a good production, great vocals by Daniel Heiman and is enjoyable throughout. On the negative side is that the songs are very one-sided and there aren't any real highlights, except maybe for the closing ballad.

Sadly this is the only album by Heed, but there's an demo from 2007 that can be heard on youtube (you should check out Running from the Shadows from that demo, definitely the best song by Heed).

Cool album. The music isn't as great, epic or technical as Lost Horizon but the vocal performance is great. The last song "Nothing" is really nice.

I don't normally listen to power metal or heavy metal but the way people talk about Daniel Heiman makes me want to give this album a chance if only to see what all the fuss is about. It's not that common in the metal spectrum to speak ill of the instrumental aspect while praising the vocals -- for that alone it's worth the listen.

Daniel's finest hour is in this song.

And I dislike modern european power metal as much as any normal person, but Lost Horizon transcends all cliches the sub-genre is known for.
