Yay, another Katatclone-ia album. Personally I've lost interest in the band after the shit they spouted on their Facebook a while back.

Shame how a once great band veered off into first Paradise Lost clone and now Kataclonia territory.

They had a massive bitchfest at basically every band that sounded vaguely blackened doom and accused them of ripping them off / being untrve because they seemed to think they invented the genre. Not even an exaggeration.

Abyssic Hate might as well have said that every dsbm band and such should be worshipping them for releasing Suicidal Emotions in 2000 (so three years before Springtime Depression)

And Shining had already released three albums of which especially II and III are considered true classics within the dsbm genre

Oh shit I am forgetting Dolorian - When All the Laughter Has Gone which is even from 1999.

Seems Forgotten Tomb was already following trends and other bands back when they still released good music.

It's meaningless to debate endlessly over who invented a particular style; genres/styles are often born through continuous evolution, both divergent and convergent - not a singular path of descent.

Forgotten Tomb should forget about defending their (negative) megalomania, and spend their energy creating the best music they can, regardless of sub-genre tags, in lieu of tastelessly criticizing others for "stealing their sound" just because they happen to share their "niche" aesthetically.

I don't blame you. I'm surprised at all the thoughtless support that post got.

It would be hard to carry on liking a band after hearing them say arrogant shit like that, but then again people will happily listen to good nsbm bands knowing all stupid the they go on about
