I really need to do an Urfaust marathon sometime

This should be out in February and not March since the pre-orders from the label ship in about 2 weeks, normally.

Not to be a bitch, but the band said a while ago this would be 40 minutes in the vein of their ambient tracks (as in the Geist Ist Teufel ones or Drei Ritual EP). Hopefully they throw in a more metal oriented track ?

That's slightly disappointing. I'm not sure an album of this would really interest me all that much. But we'll see.

It will indeed be an album clocking in at a total of about 40 minutes consisting of multiple tracks and not much guitar (I am assuming he means electric) on it at all, just one track with electric guitar which according to Jim reminds him of Sleep.

Also, why is this an EP? It's like 40 minutes.

Sounds some kidn avant-garde BM to me, seems you MS guys overate this album, its not so good , even there are some interesant and good details into music

It's ok, nothing amazing. but i have never been a massive Urfaust fan

sounds weird, more avatgarde elements , small passages , its not so called ''pure'' as hmm Immortal, and such bands.... but its only album , what I know from this band anyway

well you might be right, but its not such ambient like Ardia (band name) for example , more BM

Personally I want more of the title track. But maybe I just need more neofolky-doomy-ambient tracks like these in my life and shouldn't ask Urfaust to do a whole album of that.

Didn't you read the memo? If something sounds like something someone's never heard before, it's Avantgarde.

The title track is great, but I love the doomy atmosphere of "The Healer." That's probably my favorite song of the four. I even get a few occasional glimpses of Warning in there.

Old comment, but are you quoting the band? When bands say something like "it's like nothing anyone has heard before" it's usually something people have heard before. Only have the vaguest memories of this but avant-garde it wasn't.

Bit drunk, so maybe you were just paraphrasing the band for humour purposes, so ignore if that was the case.

To be fair to BE the band-tag and the album-tag is (still) BM. I am hearing drone doom/ambient.

Decent album.

Apparitions and the healer are top notch tracks but nothing really is happening in the river.
