Agreed. I've only heard the first two tracks but I really enjoy the vocals as well. The post-metal albums with clean vocals I've heard the past few years featured crappy harmonized gang vocals (Intronaut and Mouth of the Architect) which didn't work for me at all. This is a welcome change.

Cool, well if you can get on board with a whole album of more or less the same thing then you should dig the rest of the record. The raspy hardcore vocals are rare here, which I'm fine with to be honest. More room for those great cleans.

There are a couple of post metal bands I enjoy, but most of it is just plain boring to me. Callisto is one of the post metal bands I do enjoy. Others being Isis, Cult Of Luna, Burst (if you regard them as post-metal and not metalcore), Year Of No Light, Neurosis, Long Distance Calling. But that's about it.

Really digging the bass on this album. The vocals are nice although I expected more coming from the comments.
Only on the second track though, let's see how it developes.
Edit: Been growing on me. The vocals are really something great in this album, that and the bass.

I can't see why tbh. They are pretty good but they are not unusual.

Each to his own I guess. There's nothing new about clean vocals in post metal to me.

Yes, there are clean vocals in post metal, but usually in a singing to scream mixture. Post rock is generally associated with only singing style vocals. Now you got me curious, I will go thru my catalog and see how many post metal bands use strictly clean singing vocals. I bet it's a small percentage.

Well, to be honest with you the fact that the vocals is the least of the things I thought about is because outside the genre they ARE normal-sounding. The kind of vocals that are not strange in the suomi scene. What I find far more intriguing is the music that borrows a lot of elements from alternative metal (that bass is basically tool) and also from other suomi metal bands. I wont call a post metal band unique just because they have clean vocals more often than the harsh ones. With Callisto it's more the music itself that stands out to me.

Sounds like you just wrote a nice paragraph for a review I will explore this album more, I do like the overall sound. TBH, I haven't listened to Callisto in forever, I remember Noir from years ago.

Massive album with a lush sound. Very urban-esque ala latest Cult of Luna, which is definitely its brightest spark.

Ah, I should have commented on the urban touches for sure. Definitely reminiscent of Vertikal. Well, you can't nail all the things, specially with a rich album like this one.

Oh yes, 'tis rich indeed. So full-sounding... something about this particular element that compliments albums like this. Both Vertikal and this one are prime examples. Thoroughly and vigorously enjoying it.

Best Callisto album so far, I feel. If you like clean vocals in Post metal, you should listen to Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster - excellent post.

What a grower! I started rating this a low 7 and now I changed it to a strong 9 after loving it more after every listen. Great atmosphere, so many hidden details and the vocals give it a haunting mood.
