I enjoy reviewing follow-up works from unsigned/smaller acts who contact me to review their initial offerings. It's always interesting to see how they have progressed.

Amiensus contacted me to review Restoration about two years ago. Enjoyed it, even if I was a tad out of my element.

Susan described it thus:

This is solid. I can see the Enslaved comparisons. Quality song writing and exquisite production.

On Bandcamp I read comparisons to other acts, seems the might have increased the intensity a little from the last one. shame no review request as i'd gladly have done one.

Since when do you need a review request to review an album?

This is what i call "internet browsing metal". It's overall pleasant to hear... as background music while browsing the web. Like Ne Obliviscaris and Be'lakor for example.
Nice guitar melodies, epic progressive arrangements and vocal diversity are good.
The meh sides are: nothing really stands out to brilliancy. Songs develop for too long, with no direction. Some would be much stronger if edited to 4/5 mnutes mark.
The harsh vs acoustic has been explored by too many bands, so originality isn't these guys strong either.
As for comparisons, besides the bands in already mentioned, Opeth and Enslaved are good references.

Gave it a 6, though it"s more like a 6,5. It's like that guy/girl who's too nice to date.

Enslaved.? By no means. Nothing of that kind. For me just an average band trying to sound progressive but haven't reached that. In my opinion this one is quite empty album

My thoughts exactly.

Enslaved or Opeth?? hahahahah this shit is boring compared to those two and actually rather misleading, since it's more reminiscent to Insomnium.

I'm a big Enslaved fan, also really dig Opeth but Insomnium puts me to sleep. Will have to listen and make up my own mind.

Yeah, had a listen for myself and this is nothing much like Enslaved or Opeth. Agree with Amatsu Mikaboshi that it's more reminiscent of Insomnium. Good luck to anyone who digs this but not my cup of tea.

When they try to sound like Dimmu Borgir they really nail it. Some Insomnium and attempts at Opeth and I don't know who to match the extended clean singing bits too.

I like the album though. It's sort of ... accessible. It is a good platform for the band to evolve into something their own.

Very nice album like that last one, although it does peak at the beginning and end, with the middle songs not really living up to them
