Greek black metal veterans Varathron just announced their next release, the follow-up to 2014's Untrodden Corridors Of Hades. The new EP, to be released on October 23rd by Agonia Records, will be named The Confessional Of The Black Penitents and will feature 7 tracks. Below you can also check out the tracklist and album artwork, done by the Swiss Symbolist painter Carlos Schwabe. In addition, Varathron is also presenting a brand new track, "Sinister Recollections", now available for streaming through the YouTube player below.

The band comments: "Infernal warriors we salute you! The Abyssic Black Cult strikes again! The Confessional Of The Black Penitents is the closing chapter of Untrodden Corridors Of Hades era. Featuring 3 brand new tracks of amazing occult atmosphere. For the first time we also include 4 live tracks from our show in Greece in 2015. Classic masterpieces from the dark past like 'Unholy Funeral' and 'Cassiopeia's Ode' will be unleashed upon you!"

Many bands use the same paintings for their covers.. So, nothing hilarious, or even surprising, about it at all.
