Gwar - Scumdogs Of The Universe

Great album for fun listening, but in my opinion the album doesn't top "America Must Be Destroyed". This is thrashier, maybe a bit too serious approach from such a band, at least on some of the songs. Ergo, the fun songs such as "Sick Of You", "Vlad The Impaler" and "Sexecutioner" are what I find the best moments of this album. Some of these faster, more metallic songs like "The Salaminizer", "Maggots" and "Horror Of Yig" aren't too shabby either.

A fun album, even if it does get a little silly at times (I know I know, "Why so serious", etc.). What really stands out to me is two things however-the more mature songwriting and the boost in production, which makes every song here sound meatier (no pun intended) and fresher than they would have on their debut album. "the Horror of Yig" and "Black N Huge" are highlights for me.

This album is ridiculous, but I love it.
