Merzbow - Release Video Of Collaboration With Boris

Merzbow and Boris have joined forces for a new collaboration release. Named after the Japanese word for "phenomenon", Gensho is a unique release featuring over 150 minutes of new music spread across two CDs and four LPs. The Boris songs are percussion-less reinventions of classic tracks from the band's storied catalog, while Merzbow's songs are entirely new compositions. Below you can watch the live video for Boris "Vomitself" and Merzbow's "Prelude To A Broken Arm".

Gensho is due out this March 18th via Relapse Records. You can hear more music from this album via Bandcamp.







The two sets are intended to be played at the same time at varying volumes so that the listener can experience their own "gensho/phenomenon" every time.

Can't remember the last time I enjoyed a Boris album, but Merzbow tends to manoeuvre them in the right direction.

I don't even know if I'm still in the intro, 5 minutes in, or if it's the actual song. But it sounds amazing.

Haha, yeah, it's like a noisy version of Sunn O))) a bit. Still quite listenable despite the noise approach.
