In a year that has been, to this reviewer, mostly unimpressive in the doom metal department, the Greeks in Immensity decided to close things out with something delightfully fresh and inspired.

China was a neat
Again. Just sounds too optimistic, uplifting or cheesy for me. Keeping aside those, I guess this is a rather decent doom debut.

Pretty much this.

Seems to be quite a gap between apothecarys review and release.

Indeed, 8 seems a very generous rating for this. I was also being very nice in saying its a decent doom release as I wanted to be nice and not take anything away from it. Tbh I didn't go past the first 3 songs here.

I already know which album I will be voting for as the best debut of the year in the next Metal Storm Awards (and maybe the best doom metal album too).
Seriously, I know that Immensity doesn't create anything revolutionary in metal music, but those melodies... I would go as far as to claim that their guitar melodies are on a level of My Dying Bride and their clean vocal melodies are on par with Anathema. I know that's a bold claim, but, honestly, there were not many doom metal albums these last few years that managed to touch me emotionally in the way that The Isolation Splendour did.
Normally I put below some of my favourite tracks from the album, but this time it has no sense as I would have to put all of them.
