I'm probably going to sign up for an Egg one too that's for pick up the same location. Only $.50 more than supermarket eggs. I'd be crazy to not do that.
We grow our own vegetables and peaches but we know a friend with a cattle farm out here so we get from them but it’s not delivered, though that would be really nice

At first I thought Dark Fortress wouldn't be such a likely candidate for our highest rated album of 2020, a position in which it has since been dethroned. But the more I think about it, it kinda makes sense.
Dark Fortress share the first details about "Spectres from the Old World"!
Venerated black metal specialists DARK FORTRESS return with a new album, "Spectres from the Old World"! After a six-year gap, Germany's darkest sons continue where "Venereal Dawn" (2014) left off conceptually?the birth-death lifecycle of the universe as told by spacetime?but are expanding DARK FORTRESS' musical horizons by descending faster and with spiteful intent into the cosmic abyss. Indeed, "Spectres from the Old World" is more direct, more aggressive than its predecessors.
At no time in DARK FORTRESS' history have they reached so far out into the darkness, only to find the domine of astronomy non-existent, the end merely an end. Recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by V. Santura at Woodshed Studios throughout 2019, "Spectres from the Old World" marks an important milestone in DARK FORTRESS' journey along actual and spiritual left-hand paths. Glimpse into the endless black of the universe on "Spectres from the Old World."
"Spectres from the Old World" is scheduled for a worldwide release on February 28th, 2020 and the track listing reads as follows:
1. Nascence (Intro)
2. Coalescence
3. The Spider in the Web
4. Spectres from the Old World
5. Pali Aike
6. Pazuzu
7. Isa

DARK FORTRESS - release "Isa" taken from "Spectres from the Old World"
We are proud to present "Isa", a monolithic song inspired by Arctic Icescapes. The first single we released on December 20th,"Pulling at Threads", is definitely one of the fastest and shortest songs from "Spectres from the Old World". With "Isa" we want to present you a quite different, opposite aspect of our new album: "Isa" is the album's longest track and probably also one of the heaviest and most epic songs in our discography thus far.

Bought it today as I saw it in a store and fully listened to it... Not bad but atm there is no song that makes the difference. We get clean vocals on about half songs, call it novelty. No coup de coeur for me yet I keep supporting the band.
The album is unique, but why does everyone copy the good years of Dimmu Borgir? Incredible drummer, the sets are unique! Morean is at the highest level again. Unique voice! But all this resembles a DB from 2001 ...
I kinda miss the horror-themed days. Séance and Stab Wounds are still their best albums, in terms of composition, lyrics and singing (Azathoth did great with the tortured vocals too). Requiem Grotesque still sends shivers to my spine.
Nonetheless, this album rocks. It took some spins to let it take root, and from a "meh" first impression, I ended up really liking it. The vocals are diversified (Morean got even better after his work with Noneuclid and Alkaloid), the new synth guy does honor to the band's style as well. All in all, solid work from one of my favourite bands.

I get you, I felt the same: no coup de coeur and some track order decisions puzzeled me because the flow didn't feel smooth at first.
But several listens did the trick for me. Hope it will for you as well.

Already stared a second listening and I like it better already. Venereal Dawn took some time as well yet it delivered some uniques songs such as The Deep and On Fever's Wings.
Its good, some months ago I listened whole discpo, now its hard to judge, but I like, seems band is changed a bit, visually get rid of lame corpse paint, now maybe I can say adult orintated BM

I liked how they evolved throughout their discography, and I kinda like their sound now. I do prefer their "horror" themed albums the most though (Séance is a true gem), and the corpse paint was cool imo, it went well with their theme, ghastly, not standard black and white KISS make up.

As a matter of fact, I did. It's interesting that, whatever the band, each album resonates differently with the fans. But I see that, like me, you like even more the early stuff. Anyway, it's still one of my favourite BM bands even with their latest albums.

2 factors
Its not same if you go trough whole albums in short time lets say one week
Its different if you listen x bands 6 years ago and this year new album comes
In boat cases new album judgment will be different

Exactly. Plus, when you listen to an album for a long time, even if it feels average at first, it can become one of your favorites.
This happened a lot back in the day when I had little access to new music. I would listen to the same album collection I had for months and years before getting new stuff.
Now it's not the same, and it's a shame because I end up giving up on albums made by bands that I really like, if they aren't enjoyable at early listens.. even the ones I enjoy immediately don't necessarily make it in my "best ever" list after I switch to something new.
Not going to revisit as much as previous offerings. What certainly I'm going to listen to a lot this year will be an ultimate headbanger "In Deepest Time".
I've hadn't listened to Dark Fortress before this album and I don't listen to a lot of melodic black metal generally but something about this album keeps drawing me back. You could say it's a classic example of a "grower".
Will definitely remain in my playlist this year, solid 8/10.

And I see the blade fall down upon the head of lord in heaven
And Darkness falls upon the end of history
While I drink the milk of the Black Goddess and cry over the mankind
Listening to them first time and I liked the album very much. Coalescence, Pali aike, Isa and In deepest times are my favourite tracks. Good melodic tracks with even better deep vocals.
