"Antinomie" is an album of end of the "90's" Black Metal. There is nothing old school in their music and at the opposite we even have some kind of cross-over with melodic Death Metal. This is really melodic actually and really easy and probably a bit commercial. This kind of music remind me Hecate Enthroned but without the charm and the talent of the British combo. This is not horrible and "Syphilisation" and "Dekadencia" are two really good songs but the whole album is really repetitive and so unoriginal that it will quickly become boring for the people who like Black Metal.
It's a bit sad to see that the band wasn't able to write something a bit more personal and original. Too many albums like this one are released each year and the bands and labels will have to understand that even if they productions aren't terrible, they definitely must find a way to surprise us if they want to live! Despite its good production and some good songs, "Antinomie" is too average to become convincing. The band has a strong potential but they must react now and try to be creative if they want to survive.
In the end, this release is nothing more than an album which doesn't give anything new to the Metal scene. Hyems is not a bad band but unfortunately they totally lacked of inspiration when they wrote the songs of "Antinomie". If you're not really exigent and like easy of access Black Metal maybe that you'll like this release but all in all this is deceiving and Hyems is able to do better things. Wake up!
