01. The Thrash Of Naked Limbs
02. Le Cerf Malade
03. Gather Me Up Forever

After a really wonderful and inspired debut album, "As The Flower Withers", My Dying Bride returned during the same year with a new EP, "The Thrash Of Naked Limbs", and they keep on moving on their own doom/death metal style, with the death metal outbursts being vivid still and powerful.

The EP consists only of three compositions, yet they are enough to achieve their cause, fill the listener with intense emotions and show for one more time the composing grandeur of My Dying Bride. But let's see the songs one by one. "The Thrash Of Naked Limbs" is a fabulous composition, flowing in a mourning way, with the violin making the overall wailing feeling more intense with its heart-rending sound. The guitar riffing is slow and doomy, yet, there are outbursts where the death metal references arise and the song becomes more upbeat and dynamic, thanks to the rhythm section's wonderful work and the guitar riffing. Well, I think there's no need to mention that Aaron's performance is just awesome, pinning the listener to the ground with his intense grunting vocals, giving life to the poetic lyrics in an ideal way.

"Le Cerf Malade" is quite an obscure instrumental composition, moving in dark ambient soundscapes it evokes a serene and at the same time twisted feeling, being, all in all, a good atmospheric piece. And the last composition consisting of this EP is the powerful "Gather Me Up Forever" which begins with an ultra groovy death metal oriented passage that shakes the foundations of the world with its groovy feeling. The bombastic rhythm section for one more time interprets its role in the most ideal way and the guitar riffing, for one more time, being either slow and mourning or more death metal oriented, paves the way for Aaron's grunting vocals burning the shrouds, since he interprets with so much passion and intensity!

"The Thrash Of Naked Limbs" is a wonderful EP, having two fabulous My Dying Bride compositions that every fan of the band should listen, "Gather Me Up Forever" and "The Thrash Of Naked Limbs", but offering as well quite an obscure track, "Le Cerf Malade", which you will love it for its different, yet atmosphere-evoking, nature or you will leave it behind for the same reason.
