"Dreams For The Daring" is the new album of Dreamtide. Maybe that you don't know this German band, but you certainly know the first band of Helge Hengelke (guitars), CC Behrens (drums), and Torsten Luederwaldt (keyboards): "Fair Warning". Yes, Dreamtide is the new combo of these 3 musicians, with Ole Hempelmann (bass, ex-Thunderhead) and Olaf Senkbeil (vocals) who used to sing for Jack's Hammer and for Blind Guardian as a background singer.

This album is in the pure Hard Rock style of the end of the 80's like Bon Jovi or Def Leppard. Very melodic with a lot of positive atmosphere the music of Dreamtide is very easy of access. It's true they go to the essential. Not very technical or with some passages very long (and sometime a bit boring) the music of Dreamtide is simple but very pleasant and catchy.

It's sure the nostalgic of the 80's will be enchanted by this record, because we have all the ingredients of a great production of this decade : tracks with good Hard Rock guitars riffs, ballads, gritty melodies...

I must admit that now, I am not too much into this style of music (whereas I used to be?) but some tracks really kick ass? "I'm Not With You", "Dream real", "Eden" or "Man On A Mission" succeeded in charming me and it's with a real pleasure that I listen to these tracks again and again?

Dreamtide is not very innovating, maybe it's the real problem of the band and I know that lot of new Metalheads will not be interesting by this kind of music but if like ,me you have begin to listen to Metal with good Hard rock bands, I'm ready to bet a beer that you won't be able to remain insensible to "Dreams For The Daring"?

With a very good production (yes it's possible: the music of the 80's with the great sound of the 21st century?) , with a real quality of writing, and with great musicians and singer Dreamtide could be a real surprise.

"Dreams For The Daring" is a good album and if you're a nostalgic of Hard Rock you'll be happy to learn that this music is not dead. Dreamtide could create a surprise and I recommend this album to all the "young" metal lovers. Listen it you will see how and why you have all these Metal bands todays. Otherwise, if you want something new well you can forget "Dreams For The Daring" but I think it'll a pity because this CD could be captivating. Then maybe you could try it?
