I don't know why people don't put a little effort in the things they do, if I were a member of a German band called Bellgrave, and I'm releasing a promo for the press and labels see and listen, first, I would choose other presentation, I mean, look at the cover, has to be one of the least attractive covers of 2003, to be honest, I don't feel like listening something so bad presented like this, even if it's a promo.
But, is the music that counts, right? So let's focus on that, Belllgrave are 5 guys playing a strange brew of Gothic Rock, my sources told me that before this promo, the band use to have a more Death Metal approach to their music, a Death n´ Roll á la Entombed, but now they walk more by the Sentenced lane.
All the songs in the album are unmastered which is another downpoint, nevertheless, some songs are really catchy, "With No Compromise" and "Rattlesnake's Rattle" are one of my favorites I the promo.
The band has their sound, but it needs to be polished a little more, hope that they get a record deal, so they can show us that they can do better than this, because if they can't, well they'll be forgotten into oblivion, and for the next release, please, choose a better cover.
