This is a nice variation for all of the Metalheads who want to experience more mellower forms of music, Dwelling is a great piece of acoustical tunes, guitars and violin, plus the enchanting voice of Catarina Raposo.
Humana is name of the first full length of this Portuguese combo, and to be honest with you is quite amazing, the haunting melodies will reach your soul, all the instruments are placed correctly into a wonderful mix of acoustic landscapes.
I mentioned before the enthralling voice of Catarina Raposo, this lady has a beautiful vox, the best thing is that she doesn't try to sound operatic, and she don't try to reach high notes, she just use her voice to flow alongside the rest of instruments, specially the violin, which is a real delight for the ears.
The album allegorically portrays various events of the cycle of human life, from the cradle to the grave, which translate into the various moods found throughout the compositions much in the same way that one would balance his feelings towards life as he courses through the joy and radiance of youth into the heavy burden of old age.
The songs are singed both in Portuguese and English, although if you ask me I prefer the ones singed in their natal language.
For a record full of melancholic acoustic tunes with great vocals and gloomy violins, get this one immediately, you won't regret one second of it, because music as beautiful as this, don't come too often nowadays.
