Well, first of all, Technology is a special album. You can't start reviewing it before you say something about its recording and the huge efforts the band made so this disc could finally be released. The album was originally recorded in 2001 but due to infinite conflicts and problems with the record label it was not to be released till late 2004. This lack of interest from the recording label justifies to one point why the band didn't get the media attention and the promotion needed. Things like that remind me of many great bands of the past that came from countries where metal was not much welcomed and they were just sentenced to extinction? Septic Flesh is an example of this label behavior that lead the group to disband; being unable to survive in an international market, making all this talent, extinct. Shame? I hope Crimson Death won't have the same outcome because it's really unpleasant to see such great bands failing because their country just can't or doesn't want to promote them?

Enough with the prologue! Let's begin with the album! Technology is the first album of the Peruvian band Crimson Death. Although the production of this album is very bad due to the reasons I mentioned before (and the booklet seems like some sheets with lyrics are missing), the whole album is very good. It can be heard really pleasant, since the music of the band is very listenable. Since it's a debut album it's a very good beginning for the band and they surely have great capabilities.

The album begins with The end of the novel and along with the tracks Convicts to the extinction and Technology gives you the general spirit of the album. These three songs are the album's strongest and memorable songs. Although the vocals on all tracks are hard to understand, they go along with the music really well, creating a magnificent dark feeling. I remember the first time I listened to the songs I couldn't tell for sure if the lyrics were in English or in Spanish! Another reason I like this album is the fact that you can see the band's evolution since their first promo. In the end of the album you can see two songs from that promo, along with their newer versions, so you can make your own judgments about the band. The album also contains some songs that are weaker and will probably be forgotten easily, but that's usual in all bands' albums. But I don't want to discriminate any songs, because that would be unfair to the other.

In general, Technology is a great album and worth at least a listening, which would be more pleasant to In Flames and Dark Tranquillity fans, since their music is oriented in the "Melodic Death Metal" or "Gothenburg Metal" genre. Although the production could be better (see booklet), it's a great debut album from the arising Peruvians? I'm surely going to watch their next releases since they made me a very good impression?
