"Master Of The Moon" is the new album of our good old Ronnie. One time again, the Voice of Heavy Metal is back with a new release, and if the last one "Killing The Dragon" wasn't the best one of his long career, I must admit that "Master Of The Moon" is a good surprise. The good thing is that I have the feeling that for this one, Dio and his band mates, tried to do something maybe more in the spirit of their old albums. And this is a success, a lot of the tracks really sound Hard Rock, certainly more than the Epic and Fantasy songs that we heard before. Of course this spirit is always present in this new album, but for sure it's certainly more Rock "n" Roll?

For sure, "Master Of The Moon" is a really good album of Heavy Metal. Like each time with Dio, you have all that you need when you want to listen to a good album of Heavy. This time again, I couldn't say anything wrong against the legendary Mr Dio. He is always the great singer of Heavy, with his very particularly Rock"n"Roll voice. I don't need to describe it one more time, as always, Ronnie James Dio is perfect and believe me that even with the time, he don't lost anything in his spectacular vocals. You must know too, that Dio "the band" is a combo of very good musicians, and you could see through the purity of the guitars solo, or the excellent catchy melodies that the guys of this band know how to do music.
And what about the songs of this new album? Well in fact there is a lot of potential hits, like the first track, "One More For The Road" a very speedy and catchy song or the great "Master Of The Moon" with it slow tempo but with a great chorus. And as I said in the beginning of my review, you'll have also a lot of really Hard Rock songs, like "The End Of The World" with a riff that only AC/DC could do. We have a lot of variety in this album, pure Heavy, Hard Rock and each time with a lot of damn catchy melodies. That's well done, congratulation?
The production is also very good, this is not a surprise with this band, you know like me that this kind of international bands always have a perfect sound... The cover is also very good, a ton better than the one of "Killing The Dragon" and its dark aspect is very good to reflect the ambiance of the album which is I must say it a bit dark, and that's really good in my opinion.

This new Dio is maybe not a revolution in the style, but this is really better than his last albums. And yeah damn, "Master Of The Moon" is a good album no more!!! Not the best one of Mr Dio but one of his best for sure, and for one time at least he tried to forget a bit the dragons the spears, the swords and all the Fantasy world? If you are a fan of Hard Rock, and Heavy, "Master Of The Moon" is a must have, yeah Dio is not dead, Dio is alive, cheers to the king of Heavy !!!
