You want something badass, motherfucker? I'll show ya badass.

Without any single doubt, that motto must be the primary thought running through these guys heads during the recording of the menace that is Verse XXIV. But fortunately there's more to it. Sure Verse XXIV feels like a ravaging power blast, but it's executed in style and with class. Like a savage beating by a biker in a tuxedo. The result is a well-crafted debut, worth destroying your eardrums for.

Lost Sphere Project were never taught to color inside the lines, as their music doesn't fit neatly into one pigeonhole. Whatever their style is, it's good. And all the ingredients for one helluva party are here: relentless tunes making you smash all close objects to quivering pulp, chaotic death metal parts, grindcore goodness, you name it. There's enough variation for the whole family and the display of brutality is never lost out of sight. This sublime mix of sheer ferociousness with some tasty and catchy edges, while never being predictable, works as effective as dropping off MacGyver in a Do-It-Yourself Store.

Seemingly written by a sex-crazed forest man, the frenzied song pattern is just bewildering - though always with a high level of technical execution. Seriously, Lost Sphere Project play their instruments very well, throwing you into total fucking ecstasy, so hard the neighbors will be having a cigarette when it's done.

Forget those deathcore gutter punks who think they know what being brutal is all about. Verse XXIV will rip them all to shreds. Let's be real here; the world absolutely needs more bands of this caliber: modern bands playing real extreme metal like ravenous beasts, in an unpretentious atmosphere, and without sounding like every single other act in the scene.

Might even pass as a nice appetizer in anticipation of the new Pig Destroyer jewel. Best served cold.

Metal Stormer since 2004 to 2011, returned in late 2024. Still don’t give ratings, though. The review will tell you way more than a number ever could. Just read it, disagree if you must, and we’ll yell, fight, kiss, and make up.

"Like a savage beating by a biker in a tuxedo." Definitely laughed out loud for a while at that. Probably one of the funniest reviews I've ever read. Great job!
