Top Extreme Metal Albums From Russia

Here is my suggestion concerning Russian extreme metal bands that are worth listening to. It's mostly black and death metal stuff with some additions of post-black and blackened crust. The bands are listed in alphabetical order. I'm going to add more interesting albums to the list once I find any. Suggestions are welcome in comments, except NSBM and racist bands, and bands that play the sort of parody metal (Infornal Fuckъ, Uratsakidogi, and alike).

1. Accidental Death Benefit - Венец Творения Природы (The Crown Of Creation Of Nature)
2017. Great brutal/technical death metal band from Irkutsk region.
2. Buicide - Escaping From Yourself
2009. It seems that these guys pray in Chuck Schuldiner's temple, but they are damn good at it.
3. Cenobite - Dark Dimension
2020. Pretty basic but brutal and catchy old-school death metal from St.-Petersburg
4. Edoma - Immemorial Existence
2020
5. Gloosh - Timewheel
2020. Great atmospheric black metal one-man project from Krasnoyarsk
6. Gmork - Death Spells Erotica
2013
7. Grima - Will of the Primordial
2019
8. Grima - Rotten Garden
2021. These guys are great at using button accordion in their music. If you like this instrument, also check out this band from Pskov: https://pskovway.bandcamp.com/album/-
9. Infiltration - Nuclear Strike Warning
2017. Old-school death metal from St.-Petersburg
10. L'Homme Absurde - Belong
2020. This is a real masterpiece of post-black metal
11. Lost Conception - Paroxysm of Despair
2011
12. Minuala - Minuala
2012. Pessimistic blackened crust from the capital of Karelia
13. Minuala - Зачем лить слезы, когда падаешь вниз (Why to shed tears when you are falling down)
2019. This one is much closer to black metal
14. Morokh - The Unholy Masquerade
2015. This is their earlier album, a decent combination of blackened death metal and groovy riffs.
15. The Mutilator - The Seven Seals
2016
16. The Nameless - Mass Hypnosis
2016
17. Narada - Dead Waters
2014
18. Old Wainds - Nordraum
2014. These guys from Murmansk are somewhat like Darkthrone - they also never bother to perform live
19. Pale Keeper - The Fall
2021. Great doom metal project from Moscow.
20. Panopticon Death - Eternity in Madness
2014. The band has split up a while back, but this album is still one of the best pieces of Russian old-school death metal
21. Postcoital Ulceration - Continuation of Defective Existence After Multiple Ruinous Collapses
2014. This one is an interesting example of slamming death metal. I'm not much into this genre but I enjoyed the sound and songwriting skills of these guys. Unfortunately, the band is disbanded by now
22. Pyre - Human Hecatomb
2014
23. Second To Sun - The Walk
2018
24. Second To Sun - Legacy
2019
25. Second To Sun - Leviathan
2020
26. Succubus - Destiny
1995. A true rarity. A death metal band strongly inspired by Individual Thought Patterns/Piece of Time. The first lineup was completely female.
27. Tacit Fury - Horrors From Depth
2012. Highly inventive and well-produced death metal from Moscow
28. Tacit Fury - A Social Berserker
2014
29. Vspolokh - Помре
2020. Atmospheric black metal from the Ural
30. Икотка (Ikotka) - Заговор (The Charm)
2020. Depressive black metal from somewhere in the Ural. Ikotka is a demon in the Ural folklore.
31. Ярость Маркса(Yarost' Marksa) - We the People
2008. The band name is translated as "Marx's Fury" and there is nothing to add

Pleased to see L'Homme Absurde here. Love these guys.
I have to admit though that I have never really been into the Russian metal scene, but for a particular reason. I was simply unaware of its upswing.

Off the top of my head, I'd recommend Gherzen (1881 is pretty fantastic), Olhava, Show Me A Dinosaur (not that extreme, but really good post-metal), Рожь, Psilocybe Larvae, Gloosh (sophomore album will be out soon) and ЗИМА.

Not sure whether you wanna call them extreme, but Aspid really comes to mind.

Also Pyre, Passéisme, Crust, Walknut, Hieronymus Bosch, Comatose Vigil, Wine From Tears, Somn, Katalepsy.

Thank you for Рожь and Gherzen, these two are amazing. I like the way Gherzen deal with the history of popular uprising in their lyrics - they're much more poetical and sophisticated than it's usually done among Russian bands. As for Dinosaurs, first I was thinking to include Plantgazer, but after listening to their earlier works and especially after visiting their concert a while ago I've decided that they suck they are too mainstream in comparison with other bands here.

Yes, right, I completely forgot about Pyre, it's a great band, and they are my townsmen) As for Katalepsy, I'm not much into their music, especially their last album. I"m gonna check out the other bands you've suggested, thanks.

Walknut don't hold themselves out as an NSBM-band, but both these dudes used to play in Темнозорь, a neo-nazi Moscow black metal band that was a part of Pagan Front and had connections with German NSBM-band Absurd

Nice. Russian atmoblack is often really good because bassy. I like Colorless Forest a lot.

Yes, thanks, there is something in this band. The track "Growing" from the last album is pretty catchy
