This is my list of newly released Albums that I listened/will listen to in 2026. I hope that I have the motivation to finally complete it this year and not stop halfway through.
The records are presented in order of release date and I will rate them when I´m certain that I formed an opinion on them, though the ratings might change from time to time.
I hope this list might once again be inspiring to other users maybe some people will find some new music to listen to.
I haven't had the time and motivation to complete this kind of list every year, so let's hope I will make it this time.

Draconis Infernum - The Black Flames Of Satan
6/10 As all the years before, we are starting with a black metal release. I don't know if it's just my excitement for this new year, but I always get the impression, that the first album in the year is really solid. Nothing changed here. Dark, piercing black metal with a very fitting production, although a bit boring after listening to the first half. A change of pace would've greatly benefited this. Keep 'em coming!

Ellende - Zerfall
6/10 This band was always pretty good at what they did, but they never truly catched me. "Zerfall" makes me question my viewing of this band. Really dark, depressing songs with interesting lyricism. The problem is, that the melodies and songs on their own are not really standing out. Maybe with more listens, I can really appreciate this album and their previous work more.

Wildhunt - Aletheia
7/10 Now here's some great 80s heavy/thrash metal worship. I am a sucker for these kinds of new wave of classic Heavy Metal bands. Great melodies, melodic and riff-filled guitar work, a very nice intro track and a way better production than I expected. This left me very surprised!

Fuath - III
7/10 The first big snowfall in germany this winter took me on long walks through the forest. This album was the perfect soundtrack with the long, drawn-out atmospheric tracks. Of course, it served as a kind of background music, but man, this is some nice ABM.

Enshine - Elevation
9/10 My second forest-trip album and this left me absolutely floored. Enshine was unknown to me before this third-effort, but this mix of gothic-doom and Insomnium-esque sound is executed so masterfully. A strong AOTY contender was not on my plan this early in the year.

The Ruins Of Beverast - Tempelschlaf
8/10 This is a little bit of a switch-up for this one-man force. I've seen some dividing opinions about the clean-vocals but I think they really add to the atmosphere. It definetly builds on you after multiple listens and is a bit stronger than its predecessor.

Mayhem - Liturgy Of Death
7/10 A pretty straight-forwared black metal release, a bit unexpected. I always loved the band for their unusual and sometimes experimental sound choices, but this maybe a bit to conventional for me.
