Petitioning the Empty Sky is the second full length release by Massachusetts band Converge. It was their first CD to be released by Equal Vision Records. The CD was re-released in a remastered format and with new artwork by Aaron Turner of ISIS fame, and a bonus track in 2005.

This album isn't as good as some of their later releases, but there are some great tracks. The Saddest Day really starts this album off on the right foot.
