Why is it that I can't find the Special Edition with the songs "Code Against The Code" and "Unfurl" ?

It's a good album but there's some filler and the production doesn't really suits that well. Sounds way too cold and clinical... Not Katatonia-like. Would easily take LFDGD and VE over this one. But it's at least better than the latest one and the one before. Songs like Leaders, Deliberation and In The White are pretty awesome but unfortunately there are songs like Soil's Song, Increase or Consternation which are quite a snore fest at some points.

I remember writing this when 'The great cold Distance' was basically the only album I ever heard from katatonia. Now having heard 'all katatonia albums I feel as if this album is slightly overhyped. I'll listen to it some time soon to change my rating, because listening to the songs with a little more focus it seems that they don't match up to the likes of 'Brave Murder Day' or 'Viva Emptiness'. I can't think of a single shit katatonia album though...

Many many fillers on this album. at least the first 5 songs are great...

I still think this is one of the best albums there is.

Overall its a good album but there are a 2 or 3 really poor songs

They truly went downhill after Viva Emptiness.

After listening to this with hifi gear, a Sennheiser HD58X headphone through an Ifi Nano DAC-Amp, the insanely good production really lets the music shine through. In fact, not much metal has better production value than this album.

This is so excellent in it's subtleties

When you include the bonus tracks, including one of their greatest songs 'Unfurl', this is an untouchable masterpiece.

Album starts with two pretty great songs which are my favorites.

Other than that, I found it hard to really get into it. Quite many mediocre songs in my opinion. Still it's enjoyable album.

Naaah, Soil's Song is the standout track here, other than that I agree.

Nah, this album is straight bangers from start to finish. The tame production detracts from some of the songs but experiencing them live gives a proper idea of how heavy some of the riffs here truly are. Soil's Song is for me the standout track alongside Rusted, but I've listened to this album so many times that I had different phases where each track was my favorite.
