Good grief, Shining (NOR)! What is this nonsense with suddenly sounding all so logical and normal? What gives, men?

I wonder what's the source on that release date...

It's an approximation I guess. I doubt it will be released this year.
I certainly hope it does though.

New track available for stream. Looks like the album will be more accessible than Blackjazz, or maybe it's two accessible songs and the rest fuck up your head just as in Blackjazz.

After these two tracks I honestly doubt it.

Well, after my first spin, my thoughts are :
- Yes, its way more accessible than Blackjazz , with almost no-schizophrenic moments
- being co-produced by Sean Beaven, is giving the album a more industrial metal/rock sound, at many moments it felt like a NIN song out off their heavier stuff, with the addition of some Shining crazy twists!
- Its FUCKEN SHORT , just around the half hour mark, with the longest song is 4:30 long!!

Mine felt exactly like that. Not bad at all, some increidible stuff in here, but I think I must retract my previous comment in this being this year's best album.

One thing is for certain. This has nothing on Blackjazz.

A nice exercise on catchy songwriting, but it's not as good as Grindstone or Blackjazz. Oh well, at least they once again did something different and the songs are good

Sure its not even close to be considered one of the year best album(s), but still not a bad album, listenable, and more acceptable for the pussies who couldnt handle blackjazz madness

After more spins, its really a catchy album, maybe not mind blowing as Blackjazz, yet its better than many of the generic shit out there

I completely agree with your assessment. I ended up with about the same rating, but fortunately I was able to find a few things I enjoyed on it.

But it made me want to listen to Blackjazz instead.

Same here. It's definitely not devoid of enjoyable moments (and my words might have been a bit stronger in that respect), but I was really disappointed with the simplistic direction they took with this release. Ah well, next one one one hopefully.

This album is my biggest disappointment this year so far, and it will be hard for any other record to beat it at that.
Maybe it's just that after "Blackjazz" I was expecting something that will set loose some screws in my head, but "One One One" sounds too tame and controlled in comparison. Surely, it has its bright moments, but those mostly sound like repetitions of what could already be heard of the band's previous album. Hopefully, these guys will be more daring on their next record.
