Vombatus - 26.02.2013 at 20:46
Rating: 3 It's going to be an instrumental electro album, to be released this summer... link where Varg talks about it a bit:

Rating: 4 Yes it was... God that shit was such a joke of an album. Still wonder what he was trying to do, maybe some folky metal concept with BM guitars but failed miserably.
Carl Berg - 27.02.2013 at 01:30
The soundtrack for that movie he's making with his wife is phenomenal.
Boxcar Willy - 02.03.2013 at 03:18

Rating: 6 It's been "coughing" leaked.
Boxcar Willy - 19.05.2013 at 21:06
Rating: 7 It's an okay electro-ambient album. Better than his last two bm albums, and way better than his previous ambient. Still just meh though.

It's on youtube too.

I can hardly understand this album. If rating, 6 top.
Dentura - 27.05.2013 at 00:59
Another album already? Varg sure has nothing better going on, does he?
Ab.Victor - 28.05.2013 at 09:18
Rating: 8 An Excellent Space Ambient !
God Alone - 28.05.2013 at 13:40
Rating: 6 It's somewhat pleasant (and at times atrociously boring) but if I wanted to listen to some good spacey-ambient stuff I'd opt for Steve Roach, not Burzum and his Casio-ambient.
Lião - 10.06.2013 at 07:24
  Beautiful electronic/ambient shit.
Bizzaremifo - 10.06.2013 at 15:22
Well. well...same shit again.. no music, just sounds... i don´t care what he is doing, or where he spent most years in his life... it looks like he is not in metal anymore.. he got a lot of trouble in his mind..

NocturnalStalker - 22.06.2013 at 18:33
Rating: 7 I had no idea this was going to be an ambient music album. Still, I like it. Surely it's not a revolution in the world of music, but a nice soundtrack to a calm but gloomy evening.
I only wish the music on Varg's albums was as good as cover pictures.

I'm a huge Steve Roach fan and your comment made me check this out, I kind of like it . Never really been all that into Burzum.

Cronomaster - 15.07.2013 at 17:57

3rdWorld - 01.11.2013 at 10:29
This album invokes a myriad of responses from me.

Not among the worst of it:
musicalkaratekid - 18.11.2013 at 14:58
Rating: 6 So Vikernes has done another fully ambient album, the first in over a decade and a half in fact. I'm not going to be too judgmental on Vikernes' motive for recording this album, since I now know that his ambitions have spread to making movies, and this album is apparently the soundtrack to "Forebears", a film made by him and his other half. Musically for the most part this verges on the edge of bland and uninspiring, but there are quite a few parts of many songs which manage to turn heads at least. The spacey sounds on 'Runar munt bu finna' and 'Ganga at solu' offer some interesting noise effects and elsewhere Vikernes uses a hefty amount of melancholy and melody to make various songs amount to a half-hearted albeit glossy finish. It's far from his best work, but not quite his worst (*ahem* Umskiptar *Ahem*).
Troy Killjoy - 18.11.2013 at 17:03
Honestly I thought this album was a delayed April Fool's joke. Good on anyone who manages to find any redeeming quality, though. It takes talent to find enjoyment in an album like this, talent I do not have.

Varg and a sense of humour? That would be a first

No kidding, I was honestly excited about listening to his first official parody album but then I realized he's completely serious with this stuff. He's so serious yet everything he does these days is worth laughing at.

Reading news articles about this guy is like watching Keeping Up with the Karashians.

It's an okay electro-ambient album. Better than his last two bm albums, and way better than his previous ambient. Still just meh though.

I must be one of the few people on earth who actually enjoy Dauði Baldrs and Hliðskjálf to some extent. This, on the other hand, is pretty shitty.

I actually think one of them is a decent album, I just can't ever remember which I prefer. I haven't even listened to either album... probably in like three years.
Vombatus - 19.11.2013 at 20:36
Rating: 3 Hliðskjálf is actually a very decent ambient album, with a nice dreamy atmosphere. Much better than this and specially Dauði Baldrs, which is horrible.

Still the best Burzum did concerning the ambient department are the individual songs in the metal albums like Han Som Reiste or Tomhet.

So you wouldn't recommend this to someone who likes Burzum's ambient stuff? (I gave Hliðskjálf an 8 and will give Dauði Baldrs a 7 or 8 when I rate it)
