Biography

Based in Rhône-Alps region, Céphée Lyra is a progressive metal band created in April 2005 by Sylvain Claux (guitars) and Maud Hent (vocals). The band evolves in a distinctive musical universe, between power, aggressiveness and softness?

In October 2006, David Exartier joined the band at the drums and the composing and live playing began with a former line up. After a couple of changes, Stéphane Albanèse and Aurélien Vissio joined in (respectively as keyboardist and bassist) in April 2008, and only then the band started up on real projects.

The compositions of Céphée Lyra combine lyric & heavy singing with progressive instrumental lines with main sources of influences: progressive music, neo classic, heavy and symphonic metal ; classic music and opera... and this is how the band released its first EP Dawn Of Revelation, in March 2009.

In June 2009, David decided to leave the drum throne, and it is with Hector Lugaz that Céphée Lyra has prepared its first album A Sinner's Loneliness, always more progressive, out on December 31st 2010.

After Stéphane's departure in May 2010, the band is now looking forward to a new musical step... A second guitar has joined Céphée Lyra between November 2010 and March 2012 with Julien Goeuriot, leaving more room to power and energy. After his departure due to family reasons, the band decided to stay on a 4 members line-up, using key samples on stage.

In May 2012, Céphée Lyra debut the recording of a 4 titles long EP, wich will be released late October.

The band split in 2014.
